Bio

Yoga has been the essence in my life for more than 12 years. I first started practicing yoga by myself in a patio in Mexico City in 1997, following the pictures from a photocopy that one of my Mexican friends gave to me. In 1998, I moved to the USA to work in a research project at the Environmental Engineering Department of the University of Cincinnati. One of the first things I did was to enroll in one of the yoga classes at school. At that moment I had no idea of how transcendental this move will be for me. After that I practiced Ashtanga yoga nearly every day for about the next two years and at a studio called “It’s Yoga”. It was in that studio were in 2000 I met Sianna Sherman. There was something alchemical in that encounter. Since then I have been a dedicated student of Anusara® Yoga with her and with founder John Friend. My gratitude to both is infinite.

Life has funny ways and In Cincinnati, I got a PhD in Environmental Sciences, but I also got something that I never imagined when I arrived there: a great transformation of my being… and a lot of yoga teachings and practices.  Grace manifested in the form of my teachers and in the form of the kula, the community of yogis with whom I shared so many beautiful moments. This transformation culminated with a trip to Mexico where I could listen with great clarity the true call of my heart. I also lived in India for some time, where I had the fortune of deeply immersing myself in the rich Hindu culture. I left Cincinnati doing what I really love: to share the teachings of yoga… and that is what I have been doing until today.

At the moment, I am the only Certified Anusara teacher in Spain. I teach Anusara Yoga in Barcelona, where I am based, but I continuously travel teaching workshops, Immersions and Teacher Trainings of Anusara Yoga in Spain, Europe and Latin America. Along the way I have also explored other yoga styles, like Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kundalini and, lately,  Acroyoga with Jason Nemer and Jenny Sauer-Klein among others.  My life, my practice and my teaching are deeply inspired by the Tantric Philosophy, a gift that I receive from my teachers Douglas Brooks, in the Rajanaka Tantra tradition (from the Southern Sri Vidja Tantra), and Carlos Pomeda and Paul Muller-Ortega in the Kashmir Shaivism tradition. I bring my passion for Eastern Philosophy and Mythology, as well as my interest in the therapeutical possibilities of the yoga practice, to my yoga teaching.

Yoga is for me the adventure of life when you live to the highest.
