Soma
is one of the 4 retreats in the series called ELEMENTS.
Inspired by the undeniable presence of the elements in this special and vibrant place in Morocco, I have created 4 different experiences for you.
Come to the 4 experiences or come now to Soma retreat.
Each experience is dedicated to one element but all of them are present in all of the retreats,
Akasha, space, is the sacred container that holds everything and in which everything takes place, both the external experiences and the internal ones.
The scenery
Tamraght, in the South of Morocco is a berber village with a beautiful heart, where the locals live together with surfers from all over the world in a pacific rhythm with the Ocean. Behind the Anti Atlas Mountains decorated with the amazing argan trees.
We are at 5 minutes of the famous surfer center of Taghazout. In words of my friend Clare Beagley, “… each evening there is a special moment where the serenity of the ocean and the glowing sunset gives way to twilight, the sea begins to roar her melodious chant and one by one the stars begin to cover the sky. It’s truly magical”. All this happens to the sounds of remembrance of the Divine from the local mosque.
Accommodation
Our first experience will take place in in Maroc Surf Camp, one of the original “surf houses” in the Taghazout Bay Area (en Tamraght). Rooms are spacious and comfortables and they are decorated in the traditional local “Beldi” style.
Accommodation in double or single room.
Our large ocean-view terrace is where all the meals and good times are shared by everyone and it is ideal for dipping into a good book, watching the dramatic African sunsets, or chilling after dinner and sharing life stories with people from other cultural backgrounds.
On the rooftop is our fully-equipped yoga shala that will become our temple.
The time

Schedule
Schedule and daily plans can change depending on the weather and ocean conditions. To get the most of these days I like to flow with the rhythms of nature. You will get the daily schedule once here.

What is included:

- 1-2 daily yoga classes (depending on other activities and sessions)

What we need from you

What you need to bring…
- Weather in this area is usually very nice: warm or hot during the day, and cool during the night due to the Atlantic breeze. Temperature here can change alpe between day and night due to the wind, even during summer. Do not forget to bring warm clothes for the night or for the cloudy mornings at the beach.
- If you are surfing wetsuits are included but you can bring yours. Normally a 3/2 mm is more than enough. In the summer sometimes we surf with a swimming suit and a lycra. In the winter you might want to use a 4/3.
- Sun is always strong here. It is essential to bring a hat, sun glasses and sun screen. Really . Sun here is much stronger than in Europe.
And do not forget the most important to fully enjoy Morocco… an open heart, no hurry and a big smile.

Another option is Marrakech airport that is 3 hours away. It is easy to get here by taxi or by bus.
Transporte from/to airports is not included but we can organise it of you of for your group.
